AUSTRALIA PLACES ORDER IN BRITAIN EXTREMELY POWERFUL MACHINES. DELIVERY A YEAR HENCE. By Telegraph—Press Association —Copyright. (Received This Day, 10.40 a.m.) MELBOURNE, This Day. The Minister for Defence, Mr G. A. Street, has announced that Australia has placed an order with Britain for a squadron of extremely powerful fighting planes. The machines, which are stated to be superior in performance to any existing fighters in the British Empire, are still on the secret list. The Government expects delivery in a year’s time.
