MASTERTON SALE
• KEEN COMPETITION ENDED. The Wairarapa Live Stock Auctioneering Association report on their weekly Masterton sale held today ‘as follows:—A good yarding of sheep came forward and attracted a large attendance of buyers. Competition throughout was keen and prices showed an upward tendency,*, this being more noticeable in the wether and ewe lambs. Fat sheep were also in better demand, prices showing an improvement on last week. A. total clearance was effected under the hammer, and the following list of principal sales will indicate values: —Fat ewes, 13s 6d, 14s; fat wethers, 17s 3d; light fat wethers, 15s to 16s 3d; fat b.f. 2-ths. (good), 18s 6d; light b.f. 2-ths. (good), 15s; f.m. ewes, r.w. S.D. ram, 10s lid, Ils 9d; 2, 4 and 6-th. do., 15s; fat and forward woolly wether lambs, 15s Id; w.f .wether lambs, 9s, 9s 7d to 10s; good do., Ils 8d; cull wether lambs, 4s Bd, 5s to 6s 6d; woolly w.f. ewe lambs, 17s 6d; small do., 8s to 12s; store ewes, 4s 6d, 5s 6d to 6s 3d.
