BASIS OF ALLOCATION. PRESENT SYSTEM FAVOURED. The allocation of heavy traffic licence fees on the same basis as in the past two years was agreed to by the Masterton Borough Council at its meeting last night," Hollowing on receipt of a letter frd.m the Masterton County Council to the effect that it was agreeable to a continuance for a further two years of the present basis of distribution by which the boroughs received 25 per cent, and the counties 75 per cent. The Mayor, Mr T. Jordan: “I am told that the whole scheme of motor taxation is under review. It has been under review Tor three years at least. I don’t know how much longer it is going on.”
