HEAVY FALL OF RAIN RIVERS IN FLOOD. (“Times-Age” Special.) Rain began to fall fairly heavily early last evening and continued throughout the night, with the result that the rivers and creeks in the district are in flood. The water tables in the town area were taxed to capacity. The weather conditions, however, were not cold and, consequently, the snow on the ranges must be disappearing. TOTARA DRUIDS’ LODGE FORTNIGHTLY MEETING. There was a large attendance of members at the fortnightly meeting of Totara Lodge of Druids, over which Arch Druid Bro. H. Torrey presided. A vote of condolence was passed to the family of the late Bro. J. Sage. The secretary was authorised to pay the death benefit of £l2O in connection with Bro. Sage’s death. Three members declared oil' the sick benefit funds of the lodge. Sick pay to the amount of £2l 6s 8d was ordered to be paid. Two members gave notice to the secretary of their marriage. A candidate, who had passed the lodge surgeon’s examination, was initiated into the Lodge and Order, and given a warm welcome. A maternity allowance claim was passed for payment, subject to the member completing the additional statutory declaration under the Social Security Act, 1938 (Section 95). •Other business of a routine nature was transacted. Personal Items. Mr and Mrs Masson and family, of Auckland, are visiting Mr and Mrs R. J. Grimmer, Carterton. Mr and Mrs J. Todd, have returned from their honeymoon, and have taken up their residence in their new home at Matarawa.
