Guaranteed Price.

The question of the Government guaranteed price is discussed at considerable length in the annual report of the executive of the National Dairy Association, which remarks that “the fact that the conclusions reached and the standards recommended to the Minister of Marketing were absolutely unanimous speaks volumes for / the careful consideration brought to bear by members of . the advisory committee on what was recognised as an ' extremely difficult problem. Despite the fact that the Minister did not see fit to accept the committee’s recommendations, and arbitrarily' substituted standards of his own in determining the guaranteed price,” the executive continues, “the accuracy of the report stands unshaken, and its standards remain as a valuable measuring rod on which farming costs may be determined with a degree of exactitude not previously possible.” Fish and Game Administration. The district served by the Masterton office of the State Placement Service extends from Lake Ferry to Pahiatua. and includes all the country to the east. Employers in the subdistricts who require labour urgently should get in touch with local postmasters, who act as placement officers for outlying parts.
