MEAT BOARD

PRODUCERS’ REPRESENTATIVES. MR J. M. JAMES BEING NOMINATED. Mr J. M. James, of Masterton, is being nominated as a candidate for election to the New Zealand Meat Producers’ Board as a producers’ representative. Mr James has been approached by a number of farmers, who requested him to allow himself to be nominated. This he has agreed todo. Mr James has taken a leading part in the affairs of the farming community for a considerable number of years. Almost since the inception of the Meat Board, he has been a member of the electoral committee. He has been closely associated with the Masterton A. and P. Association, and for two terms was president, and at present is a member of the committee. Mr James is also a member of the executive of the Royal Show Society, and its Eastern Council. He has taken a leading part,in the Farmers’ Union, and for some years nas been treasurer of the Wairarapa Provincial Executive, and is also president of the Masterton branch. He was a delegate to the recent interprovincial conference held in Masterton. Another body on which Mr James is a member of the executive is the recently formed Masterton branch of the Federation of Sheepfarmers, while he holds a similar position on the Wairarapa District Committee of Young Farmers’ Clubs.
