KNOX CHURCH

LADIES’ GUILD MEETING. A very happy time was spent on» Wednesday evening when another of the socials organised by Knox Ladies’ Guild was held in Knox Primary Department. These occasions are proving very successful from every point of view, and church members are taking full advantage of the opportunity provided for meeting each other in an informal way. The Rev. J. Davie opened the meeting and extended a welcome to those present, on behalf of the Ladies’ Guild. An excellent programme was presented. Those who contributed items were:—Miss D. Jamieson (vocal solos), Miss J. Douglas (elocutionary recital), Messrs Djbuglas and Morgan (vocal duet). Those taking part in the play reading were: Mrs A. Stubbings, Miss P. Andrews. Messrs Morice and L. Pither, and Miss Douglas (explanatory readings). A competition was won by Mr Ross. A “Bring and Buy” stall was conducted by Mrs Welch. The supper arrangements were in the capable hands of the Girls’ Auxiliary. At the conclusion of the meeting Mr Davie thanked the Girls’ Auxiliary for the efficient way in which they had acted as hostesses, and he extended the Guild’s thanks to all those who had helped to make the gathering so enjoyable.
