WOMEN’S INSTITUTE
MAURICEVILLE WEST BIRTHDAY CELEBRATIONS (“Times-Age” Special.) The Mauriceville District Women’s Institute celebrated its fourth birthday with a concert and dance in the Mauriceville Hall. Despite the weather conditions there was a good attendance including representatives from all neighbouring Women’s Institutes. The President (Mrs Forsberg), after asking Miss Heckler (President of the local branch of the Women’s Division of the Farmers’ Union) to light the candles. Mrs Welch to cut the cake, which was made by Mrs Myers, thanked those present for their attendance, and appealed to all women to join the Women's Institute. Shoulder sprays, which were artistically made by Mrs Cameron, were presented to these ladies. Music for the dance was supplied by Mr J. West and his band. A very tasty supper was served by the ladies.
