CHESS

SOCIAL EVENING AT MORISON’S BUSH. (“Times-Age” Special.) A pleasant social evening took place last evening when chess players of the South Wairarapa met at the home of Mr L. Thompson, Morison’s Bush, for practive and play. A sides match gave the following results: —ClifT Clemas 2, Capt. Barcham 0; Collier 0. J. Field 2; Field Senr 0. Clapshaw 2; J. Bladen 2, Woods 0; E. A. Heyden 21, M. Wimp 11; E. A. Heyden 3, L. Thompson 2. At the conclusion of play Capt. Barcham proposed the thanks of the visitors to Mr and Mrs Thompson for their kind hospitality. During the evening Mr C. Clemas, speaking on behalf of the Masterton Chess Club, invited all present and all South Wairarapa players to a social evening to be held in Masterton on June 21. _________
