DRAMA SCHOOL
REHEARSALS AND TUITION CLASSES. PUBLIC PRESENTATION OF TWO PLAYS TONIGHT. The drama school being conducted at St. Matthew’s School Assembly HaU, Pownall Street, by the Wairarapa Drama League is being well attended by pupils and others interested in the drama. Last evening rehearsals were given of “The Black Horseman” and “Hands Across the Sea” and the tutor, Mrs Victor Lloyd, gave an informative lecture on the production of children’s plays and on the use of the mime in connection therewith. The last portion of the evening was devoted to acting classes, in which all students were asked to give thumb-nail sketches, demonstrating the expression of the emotions. The school will be concluded today. This morning classes were conducted between 10 a.m. and noon and further rehearsals are taking place this afternoon from 4 to 6 p.m. Tonight, at 7.30 o’clock, “The Black Horseman” and “Hands Across the Sea” will be presented at a performance open to the public, at which the charge for admission will be Is.
