COLLISION WITH VAN

MOTOR CYCLIST INJURED. (By Telegraph—Press Association.) TE KUITI. This Day. A motor-cyclist, William Ronald Levet. a single man aged 26, of Auckland, is in the Te Kuiti Hospital, in a critical condition, as the result of a collision at Tangitu Junction, 29 miles south of Te Kuiti, yesterday. His cycle struck a van a glancing blow and Levet’s head struck a projecting door hinge, fracturing his skull. A pillion rider, Frederick John Dempsey, formerly of Gisborhe and now of Auckland, escaped with shock. The driver of the van was Carl Herbert Schmidt, of Auckland. Captain H. M. Rushworth was a witness of the accident and rendered assistance.
