Tlie King, dressed in morning clothes, inspected the guard of honour. The Royal couple then drove through the city, after which they lunched at Government House. The Queen, wore a grey silk suit, with a long coat and white fox furs on her sleeves, a grey straw hat and violets and a small veil trimming it. Her gloves and shoes were of the same shade ,of grey. An official aboard the Royal train disclosed that their Majesties had received many goodwill messages from American citizens since leaving the United States. A typical message read: “I am only one of the millions who lined the streets to offer a sincere welcome to you and your Queen. ... Please in some way convey my regards to the many English women who mothered young American boys in sickness and sorrow during the World War.... May cordial relations between our people always bind our nations in peace and prosperity.” HOMEWARD VOYAGE LANDING AT SOUTHAMPTON ON JUNE 22. GREAT PREPARATIONS MADE FOR WELCOME. (Received This Day, 12.5 p.m.) LONDON. June 13. The Empress of Britain, with their Majesties, will dock at Southampton on June 22. Queen Mary, the Princesses Elizabeth and Margaret Rose, the Duke and Duchess of Gloucester, the Duke and Duchess of Kent, the Princess Royal and the Earl of Harewood will join in the welcome. Grandstands occupy the whole of the dockside and also the route to the station. All shops will be closed and school children will be given a holiday.
