THETIS INQUIRY
TO BE OPENED AS SOON AS POSSIBLE ANNOUNCEMENT IN HOUSE OF COMMONS. SALVAGE OPERATIONS DELAYED. (British Official Wireless.) RUGBY. June 12. Salvage operations on the submarine Thetis will recommence as soon as possible, though it may be two or three weeks before the necessary gear for another attempt can be obtained. The Prime Minister. Mr Chamberlain, gave this information today to the House of Commons, which passed a resolution establishing a special tribunal of inquiry. The tribunal, which will consist ot Mr Justice Bucknill, assisted by three expert assessors, will open the inquiry in London, but some part of it will be held in Liverpool. Mr Chamberlain said the Government would give the tribunal all the assistance in its power. The Treasury solicitor had been instructed to place his services at the disposal of the tribunal for the purpose of collecting evidence and other material for submission to the tribunal. The inquiry would open as soon as possible.
