CANDLE GREASE STAINS
HOW TO REMOVE THEM. ■ Put a sheet of blotting paper on the grease marks and press with a very hot iron till the paper seems to have absorbed some of the grease. Then place a fresh sheet of blotting paper over the stain. that remains and repeat the process. Do this as often as necessary until the stain has disappeared. Another method is to lay a paste of benzine and magnesia powder on the marks. Brush off when dry and renew as often as necessary. A mixture of methylated spirits, ether and ammonia in equal parts rubbed on with a cloth is another strong remover. If using the last method take care, before rubbing the stain, to damp the surface well all round with the liquid used.
