WEDDING

FOSTER—TRASS. A wedding of much interest took place at Knox Church, Masterton, on Wednesday afternoon last when Daphne Pearl, fourth daughter of Mr and Mrs H. G. Trass, Mauriceville West, was married to Pat Robert Johnston Foster, eldest son of the late Mrs Laird, of Masterton. The Rev. D. McNeur performed the ceremony and Mr C. Kerry presided at the organ. The bride who was escorted by her father, looked charming in a gown of magnolia satin with inlets of lace in the bodice and train, long fitting sleeves forming a point over the hand. Her tulle veil, held in place by a coronet of lilies and orange blossom, formed a second train. She carried a sheaf of lilies and maidenhair fern. The bride was attended by her sister Mavis, and a friend, Miss Mavis Williams, both of Mauriceville. The former wore a frock of mauve stiffened net over taffeta and darker mauve velvet shoes. Miss Williams wore a primrose coloured dress. Both wore coronets of heather and lemon leaves in their hair. Their bouquets were of sweet peas, carnations and maidenhail fern. The bridegroom was attended by Mr Douglas Wellington, of Masterton, as best man, and Mr James Baucke (Eketahuna) as groomsman. fi.he bridegroom’s present to the bride was a green leather handbag and to the bridesmaids gold necklets. After the ceremony a reception was held at the Cosy Tea Rooms where the bride’s mother received the guests wearing a frock, coat and hat of a rust colour, and a fur and carried a posy of autumn tints. The beautiful threetier wedding cake was made by the bride's mother and iced by her uncle Mr J. L. Weightman, of Palmerston North. In the evening a dance was held at the Mauriceville West Hall, the music being supplied by the Blue River Dance Band. When Mr and Mrs P. Foster left on their honeymoon for the South Island the bride was attired in a bottle green costume with hat and accessories to match. The future home of Mr and Mrs Foster will be in Mauriceville West. \
