The Japanese informed the United States Consulate that a blockade of the British and French Concessions begins on Wednesday. DEATHS AT NANKING CONSULATE EMPLOYEES APPARENTLY AS RESULT OF POISONING. (Received This -Day, 10 a.m.) TOKIO, June 12. The Foreign Office announces that two employees of the Japanese Consulate at Nanking have died, apparently as the result of poisoned wino' consumed at a banquet yesterday. A message from Shanghai yesterday stated that prompt medical attention saved the lives of 25 high officials of the puppet Nanking Government, including the Premier, Liang Hungchih and also the Japanese Foreign Vice-Minister, Mr Tomasaburo Shimizu, and other Japanese, after they had drunk poisoned wine at a banquet. One suspect was arrested. CHENGTU BOMBED HUNRDEDS OF CASUALTIES. VICTIMS -INCLUDE AMERICAN WOMAN. (Received This Day, 9.30 a.m.) CHUNGKING, June 12. Japanese planes bombed the West China Union University at Chengtu, killing eight Chinese students and injuring the wife of an American pro fessor, also inflicting 500 casualties among citizens. The Japanese claim that tne Chinese lost 8600 men in recent fighting in the Shansi Province, where cleaningup operations have been successfully completed, and that 1674 Chinese were taken prisoner.
