MAHUNGA v BIDEFORD. ■ During the weekend an inter-club match between Bideford and Mahunga Golf Clubs was -played at Mahunga. Chief interest was centred upon the first eight men players of the respective clubs, since the Dominion Life Assurance Challenge Cup was at stake. Bideford were successful in defeating the Mahunga top 8 men for the trophy. However, on the ■ club games Mahunga emerged victorious by 25 games to 11. A fourball competition played by members of the Masterton Golf Club on Saturday resulted as follow: —G. Falloon and T. W. Horton, 7 up; G. Brown and L. Kibblewhite. 4 up; E. Henderson and E. B. Booth, 4 up; C. C. Marsack and W. N. Snowsill, 4 up; H. P. Hugo and R. Page, 3 up; N. F. Blundell and F. Tatham; 3 up.
The competition for the Jameson Cup resulted: E. Henderson and E B. Booth, 7 up; T. W. Horton and G. Falloon, 7 up; F. B. Tatham and N. Blundell, 6 up; L. Kibblewhite and G. Brown, 6 up; N. Moore and L. Connolly, 4 up; C. C. Marsack and W. N. Snowsill, 4 up; H. P. Hugo and R. Page, 3 up. A play off will be necessary to decide the winners. The interclub match between Masterton and Rototawai, at Rototawai, was abandoned on account of rain after a start had been made -with play.
