WAIRARAPA CHAMPIONSHIPS. BIG SCORES IN JUNIOR GAMES. A further series of games in the Wairarapa Hockey Association’s fixtures was played on Saturday. Conditions were again ideal and the grounds were in most cases in good condition. The senior men’s games played were between Dalefield and Kiwi and Hastwell and Wesley, while Carterton had the bye. Kiwi and Dalefield met at Lansdowne and a game of missed opportunities resulted in a draw. Wesley journeyed to Hastwells only to be well beaten. Wesley held their opponents for the first half but collapsed completely in the second spell. In the junior division some big scores were again registered. Wesley A pul up seventeen goals against College B. while College. A hit up 11 goals against Wesley B. The most interesting game was between Carterton /A and College Old Boys. Greytown A and B teams had a great tussle for the honours, there was very little between the two teams and the game was very interesting. Results: — Senior. Kiwi drew with Dalefield 1/1. Hastwells beat Wesley 8/1. Carterton -a bye. Junior. Wesley A beat College B 17/C. College A beat Wesley B 11/0. College Old Boys beat Carterton A 3/0. Greytown A beat Greytown B 2/0. Dalefield beat Carterton B 8/1. WOMEN’S GAMES. The Wairarapa Women’s Hockey Association fixtures* were advanced a stage further on Saturday. No surprises were witnessed but some very interesting games were played. Excelsior still maintained their unbeaten record when they beat Carterton. This game was played at Carterton and the home team were expected to make things hard for Excelsior but failed badly on the day. •

Kia Ora A defeafed Kiwi at Lansdowne after a fair exhibition of the code. Kiwi would be a hard proposition for any team if their forward line would get down to serious training. Their backs are quite sound, but they cannot win the game, and it must be very disheartening to them to sep their good work go for nothing. College continue to show improved form and won easily from Kia Ora E. Carterton enthusiasts were treated to an exciting game between Carterton and Excelsior junior teams. Both teams put up a great exhibition aand a scoreless draw was the result. Results: — I Senior Women. Excelsior beat- Carterton 5/0. Kia Ora A beat Kiwi 3/0. College beat Kia Ora B 7/0. Junior Women. College B beat College C 3/1. College A beat College D 10/1. College O.G. beat Featherston 5/3. Excelsior and Carterton drew, ■ no score.
