WOMEN’S DIVISION

RANGITUMAU BRANCH. The rvjnthly meeting of the Rangitumau branch of the Women’s Division was held at the residence of Mrs D; C. Stuart when Mrs D. James presided over a fair attendance of members. A vote of sympathy was passed to Mrs J. Watson, and the secretary was instructed to write to her expressing the deep regret of the members at the death of Mr Watson. Matters relating to the “Diggers’ Market” were discussed, and it was decided to assist it with articles for the stalls. During the afternoon Miss N. Ractliffe gave a very interesting talk about her visit to Europe. This was very much enjoyed.

Mrs Tankersley and Miss Ractliffe judged the various competitions the results being as follows:—! shrub, Mrs Ghorley 1; Mrs Duckett 2; 3 shrubs, Mrs James 1, Mrs Duckett 2. Thrift article, Mrs Macdonald 1, Mrs Wrigley 2. Egg' less cake, Miss Harvey 1, Mrs Macdonald 2.

The following competitions were arranged for the July meeting which will be held at the ho.’ne of Miss Harvey: Flowers 1 and 3, tin of biscuits, sugar bag article (not more than 3 bags to be used), knitted article from not more than 3 skeins of wool. Votes of thanks were passed to Miss Ractliffe, Airs Tankersley and the hostesses for tlie afternoon, Mesdames Stuart and Seward.
