DEATH SENTENCES
THREE COMMUTED IN NEW . SOUTH WALES. By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright SYDNEY. June 9. The sentences of death passed on three persons for murder were' commuted to imprisonment for life by the Executive Council tonight. Fabian Fogarty, 32. Harold Percy Smith, 33, and Matilda Ann Edwards, 31, are those affected. The case of John Trevor Kelly. 24, was held over for further inquiry. Fogarty was convicted of the murder on February 10 of Mrs Edna Dixon 24, and her sister, Gwendoline Murray, 15, at their station homestead at Bendemeer, and Smith and Edwards, were convicted of the murder on December 21 of Edwards's husband near Taree. Kelly was convicted of the murder on February 6 of Marjorie Somerlad on a farm near Tenterfield.
