FEATHERSTON COUNTY

MEETING OF COUNCIL TODAY’S BUSINESS. ("Times-Age" Special.) The monthly meeting of the Featherston County Council was held today at Martinborough, there being present: Mr. A. B. Martin (chairman), Councillors G. Gillies, R. Smith, D. Cameron, L. J. Thompson, Q. Donald and R. W. Matthews. Messrs Garrity. Bros.’ tender for metalling the Hikanui and Pihautea roads was accepted. The tender of Messrs. A. R. Hislop' and Co., Ltd., Wellington, for oil supplies was accepted. Accounts passed for payment amounted to £3201. a. The ranger reported having impounded 32 head of stock during the month and registering 365 dogs. Slaughter house licences were granted to Messrs. J. Kelly (Featherston). A. W. Horton and Svensen (Greytown).
