GLADSTONE

THIRD REUNION BALL BIG GATHERING IN HALL. PRESENTATION TO MRS|. DODDS. ("Times-Age" Special.) The Reunion Ball held by the Gladstone School Jubilee Committee in the Gladstone Hall last night attracted an attendance of about 200. The gathering. which proved a most successful one, was the third ball held since the school celebrated its diamond jubilee two years ago. Visitors were present from Masterton and the Lower Valley. Under the direction of Messrs. E. Thompson. J. Walker and C. Wyeth, M.'sC., dances followed each other in rapid succession, the music being supplied by Udy’s Orchestra, while muchappreciated extras were played by Messrs. Udy, W. Naera. H. Morris and J. Benbow. Mrs. E. B. Booth was in charge of the ladies' committee which was responsible for the excellent supper arrangements. The chairman of the Jubilee Committee, Mr. W. Tahana, made a presentation to Mrs. I. E. Dodds, late headmistress of the Gladstone School, who recently retired. He handed her. with the best wishes of district residents, a gold wristlet watch and dressing table set. and * spoke in mokt appreciative terms of her excellent service to the Gladstone School over a long period of years. Gladstone School. Mr. Rankin has taken up duty at the Gladstone School in succession to Mrs Dodds.
