Members of an Arab gang, believed to be connected with the shootings at Kwakilieh on June 2 were practically wiped out near Tulkarem, in an engagement with the Second Battalion of the Leicestershire Regiment. At least fourteen Arabs were killed and scores were wounded. It is believed that the deaths will reach 35. Arab villagers south of N' blus captured a gang of twelve armed Arabs who had terrorised the countryside for a year, and handed them over to a British detachment.
