PROHIBITION OF EXPORT ADVOCATED. WELLINGTON EXHIBITION APPLICATION. By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright. SYDNEY, This Day. The president of Koala Club of Australia, Mr O. D. Oberg, said that the club had asked the Minister for Customs to forbid the export of live koalas from Australia to New Zealand, for the Wellington Centennial Exhibition next year. Mr Oberg said: “It is our duty to save what few koalas remain in Australia and to ensure the continuance of the species rather than to exploit them for exhibition purposes.”
