WEDDING

WHITEMAN—ELKINS. The marriage took place at St Matthew's Church, Masterton, on Saturday afternoon of Miss Moira Stoddard Elkins, elder daughter of Mr and Mrs A. H. Elkins, of Parkvale, and Mr Harold Arthur Whiteman, youngest son of Mr and Mrs G. Whiteman, of Lansdowne. The ceremony was performed by the. Rev E. J. Rich, and MiMiller Hope presided at the organ. The bride, wno was given away by her father, wore a becoming gown of magnolia satin, with long tight-fitt-ing sleeves and a train. The embroidered tulle veil was held in place with a coronet of orange blossoms. Her bouquet was of white and pale pink chrysanthemums and maidenhair fern. The bridesmaid, Miss Joan Andrews, of Masterton, wore a frock of figured taffeta cut in Victorian style, with full skirt and tight bodice, and puff sleeves. Her bouquet was of petunia shades. The best man was MiRay O'Callaghan, of Masterton. A reception was held at the Prince of Wales Hotel, when immediate relatives were received by Mrs Elkins who wore a navy ensemble and carried a posy of red-toned flowers, and by Mrs Whiteman, who was attired in a black tailored costume and carried a posy of heliotrope-shaded flowers. The bride's travelling dress was a teal green two-piece suit, with black accessories and silver fox fur (the gift of the bridegroom). The honeymoon is to be spent on a tour of the North Island. Mr and Mrs Whiteman will reside in Masterton.
