In the semi-finals in the European Zone series for the Davis Cup today Menzel (Germany) beat Hare (Great Britain), 6/0. 6/1. The match was abandoned because Hare was suffering an attack of lumbago. Henkel (Germany) beat Shayes (Great Britain), 6/2, 6/3, 6/1. It is announced from Zagreb (Yugoslafyia) that in the semi-final there Puncec (Yugoslavia) beat Lacroix (Belgium), 1/6, 6/3, 6/3, 7/5; and Mitic (Yugoslavia) beat Geelhand (Belgium), 6/1, 6/4, 6/1. BRITAIN ELIMINATED. GERMANY WINS DOUBLES. (Received This Day, 10.15 a.m.) BERLIN, June 4. In the Davis Cup match, H. Henkel and G. von Metaxa (Germany) defeated Shayes and Wilde, 6/4, 6/2, 6/2. Britain thus is eliminated. BELGIUM v YUGOSLAVIA. (Received This Day, 11.20 a.m.) ZAGREB. June 4. In the Davis Cup contest, Lacroix and Debormart (Belgium) defeated F. Punee and D. Mitic (Yugoslavia), 6/2. 0/2, 6/3.
