BRITAIN'S AIMS
ACCORDING TO HERR HITLER
More Talk of Encirclement of Germany
SINISTER ADDRESS TO EX-SERVICE MEN
NATION MUST BE MILITARILY TRAINED
AND EDUCATED
By Telegraph. —Press Association.—Copyright. (Received This Dav, 10.15 a.m.) BERLIN, June 4. Hurling defiance al ‘‘British encirclement,” Herr Hitler, addressing 215,000 ex-Servieemen at Cassel, said Britain’s aims remained the same as before the World War —namely, the destruction of German trade, the annihilation of her mercantile fleet, and. the robbery'of her colonies. Germany was guiltless of the World War, but lhe Treaty of Versailles revealed the war aims of others, which persisted in England and France. Germany’s only war guilt was her frivolous neglect of armaments before 191-1. “I am convinced (Heir Hiller said) that (termans can reflect oil the history of the war with the greatcsl pride. Nobody has a right to consider himself above the German people. We no longer suffer from an inferiority complex, but are determined to defend our rights. Theats no longer intimidate ns. If encirclement proves lhe same as before the war, there will be one difference —namely, that Germany's defence policy has fundamentally changed. T have taken care that all in leading positions are one hundred per cent soldiers and not civilians dressed up in majors’ uniforms (a reference to Herr BethmannIlollweg, Germany’s war time Chancellor). It is onr duty to tell the nation the truth but we must be armed- to the teeth. The nation must be militarily trained and educated.
