PRIZES FOR COMPETITIONS. The committee of the Diggers’ Market announces that the following prizes have been donated for presentation to the winners of the competitions held in connection with the Diggers’ Market. No entry fees will be charged:—Best home-made fruit -cake made by country resident. —First prize, permanent wave donated by Mr Doug. Catt; second prize, six 10 ounce tins custard powder presented by T. J. Edmonds, Ltd. Best home-made madeira cake made by country resident.— Special prize: ldoz. assorted essences presented by Hansell’s, Ltd; first prize, £1 Is, presented by Mrs D. James; second prize, 1 dozen jelly crystals, presented by T. J. Edmonds, Ltd. Best home-made butter sponge made by borough resident. —First prize, 1 doz. assorted essences, presented by Hansell's, Ltd.; second prize, 10s cash, presented by Mrs Jenkins. Best box of hand-made sweets, not under 21bs net, open to town or country residents. — First prize, permanent wave presented by Miss Esme Harding. The conditions are that all entries must be home-made and donated to the market for sale, and that Edmonds, Lt|d<, require that Edmonds Baking Powder be used in each entry for their prizes, and Hansell’s, Ltd., require that Hansell’s Carraway Essence be used in each entry for their special prize for madeira cake.
