WILMOT BY=ELECTION MAJORITY OF 69 VOTES. RESULT OF VOTE-SPLITTING. By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright. (Received This Day, 10.10 a.m.) LAUNCESTON, June 1. Mr L. Spurr (Labour), won the Wilmot by-election from Mr J. Guy (United Australia Party) by G 9 votes, after the preference votes had been distributed. Wilmot was the seat rendered vacant by the death of Mr J. A. Lyons, Federal Prime Minister. There were six candidates, two Labour, three United Australia Party, and one Independent.
