CRIPPLED CHILDREN

MEETING OF WAIRARAPA EXECUTIVE. MANY t CASES DEALT WITH. A total of twenty-one cases came under review at the last meeting of the executive of the Wairarapa branch of the New Zealand Crippled Children Society. Encouraging advice has been received regarding the probable employment of a crippled youth. A young girl has been sent to a specialist for examination, while,a report is to be obtained in another case requiring medical attention. A boy who underwent an operation has progressed well and no longer - requires to use an, invalid chair, which was lent for his use. A report regarding crippled children at the Hospital showed that two cases had returned home; ’ another . would soon be well enough to go home and a boy recently admitted had been operated on with satisfactory results. Arrangements are to be made for a girl to be admitted for X-ray examination. An amount of £l4 15s lOd was passed for payment in connection with educational and. vocational training. Efforts are to be made to obtain private tuition for a crippled girl. Messrs Dunderdale and Gray, who have been honorary secretaries to the branch since its inception, asked the executive to relieve them of their duties, but agreed to continue pending the appointment of a successor.
