ANGLICAN CHURCH LADIES’ GUILD MEETING. (“Times-Age” Special.) The monthly meeting of the Greytown Anglican Ladies’ Guild was held on Thursday afternoon at the residence of Mrs A. S. Stevens, Main Street. Mrs York presided over a good attendance of members. Several apologies for absence were received. Miss Stephens was accorded a hearty vole of thanks for a donation of six teaspoons and two plates to the Guild. Final arrangements were made for the film evening, which is to take place at the Parish Hall on June 9, at 7.15 o’clock. Several competitions and dances are to take place, and good prizes will be offered. Canon Sykes thanked Mrs Stevens for the use of her room. Mesdames Stevens and Beu were the hostesses for the meeting. Pianoforte Recital. Mr Paul Schramm, the noted pianist, entertained a party of music lovers at a delightful pianoforte recital at Mrs . T. Gold’s residence, Main Street, Greytown, on Wednesday evening. At the conclusion of the programme Mrs Knell thanked Mr Schramm for his kindness in giving the people of Greytown such a treat. Mr Schramm, in replying, said that it gave him pleasure to give others pleasure. He stated that he may come to Greytown again. Personal. Mrs A. York and her son, Earl, left today for a holiday to be spent at Raumati Beach, Paraparaumu. Hotkey Teams. The many friends of Mr H. Walden will regret to learn that he is at present confined to his bed, and is being attended to by a nurse at the residence of his daughter, Mrs E. G. Thomas, Island Bay. Mr G. Drummond, works supervisor to the Wellington Education Board, paid a visit to the Greytown District High School on Wednesday.
