CHARGE OF THEFT

YOUNG MAN COMMITTED FOR SENTENCE. (By Telegraph—Press Association.) WELLINGTON, This Day. On a charge of the theft of money amounting in all to £77 4s 8d from Preston and Thompson Ltd., Raymond Julian Jorgensen, a clerk aged 20, was committed to the Supreme Court for sentence. Bail was granted on condition of a daily report to detectives. Accused’s explanation, in a state.ment to detectives, was that on leaving the firm he retained a key to the premises. According to the evidence, money was carefully checked into a strongroom and found to be missing on various dates when the strongroom was again opened.
