FREEZING COLD
SQUALUS SALVAGE PLANS MODIFIED. . VESSEL TO BE TOWED INTO SHALLOWS. (Independent Cable Service.) NEW YORK. May 30. Extreme cold freezing the divers’ bands and the air lines .caused the navy to adopt a new plan to salvage the ill-fated submarine Squalus, which will be towed to more shallow waters by a giant towing chain, enabling the divers to work in comparative safety.
