GOLF COMPETITIONS (“Times-Age” Special.) The third round for the trophies was played on Saturday afternoon, Mrs Schofield returning the best card for the ladies with a net 66 and S. Gray handed in the best card for the men with a nel 58. There will be no play on Saturday next as on June 4 the annual inter-club match with Wainui-o-ru Club will be played on the Stronvar links, and on June 11 a Donald Cup match against Tyneside Club will be played at Te Wharau. PRE-WEDDING PARTIES MISS LUCAS ENTERTAINED. Parties are in vogue for Miss Joan Lucas who is to be married very shortly. Mrs F. C. Cameron gave a verynice afternon for the bride-to-be in the shape of a gift afternoon. Mrs Read and Mrs Foreman held a golf afternoon at the clubhouse when all had a very enjoyable time. On Sunday afternoon Miss Lucas was the guest of the golf club at afternoon tea, after which the president of the club presented her with a silver pyrex entree dish .with the best of good wishes, from all the members of the club. Miss Lucas suitably replied.
