LOTTE LEHMANN
VOICE OF RARE BEAUTY. Students, in addition to music lovers as a whole, cannot afford to miss hearing Lotte Lehmann, the world's great soprano when she will give two concerts at the Grand Opera House, Wellington, on Thursday, June 8. and Saturday. June 10. In addition to having a voice of rare beauty, she is acknowledged as one of the finest vocal technicians of the day. Of all the difficult things in vocal technique perhaps the most difficult is perfect artistic control of breath, yet, to any person hearing it in a great singer, it seems natural and easy. That is why students who flocked to hear Madam Lehmann during her Australian concerts, envied her. By vocal inflection and gesture she identifies herself with the moods of the characters of every song she sings. She is renowned as the greatest living exponent of lieder. but at the same time she excels in everything she attempts. In this respect she will, during her New Zealand tour, demonstrate her remarkable versatility by singing everything ranging from opera to light songs. Mailed applications for seats' for country patrons (reserves 11s 2d, this including tax) will be received at the box office, D.1.C., Wellington.
