MR NASH’S MISSION

“DAILY MAIL” COMMENT ADVICE TO BOARD OF TRADE PRESIDENT. RESTRICTIONS GN IMPORTS CRITICISED. By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright. (Received This Day, 11.5 a.m.) LONDON, May 29. The “Daily Mail,” in a leading article, advises Mr Oliver Stanley (President of the Board of Trade) in his talks with Mr W. Nash (New Zealand Finance Minister), to stress Britain’s concern at New Zealand’s restriction of imports. It adds preference to Britain merely means that' British imports are cut less heavily than foreign imports. There would be greater sympathy with the Savage Government’s financial difficulties if it had not brought them on itself. The extravagance of its socialistic schemes helped to reduce New Zealand’s sterling balance in London from thirty millions sterling to seven millions in a year.
