The Princess Marguerite was escorted by four destroyers of the Pacific Squadron. Twenty-four Indian war canoes, with braves in full war paint, followed the ship to The Narrows, where a vast fleet of yachts and pleasure craft was waiting. From the Lion’s Gate bridge the Princess Marguerite ploughed her way between one hundred seine boats of the Royal Canadian Nava] Volunteer Reserve, spread out in two long lines..
