BRIDGE PARTY
MASTERTON BOWLING CLUB GATHERING. There were fourteen tables of bridge players at the Y.M.C.A. last night, when the Masterton Bowling Club held a very successful bridge party. Mr. V. Gooding welcomed the players, and said that the Bowling Club members were pleased tq see so many visitors present. The object of the bridge parties it was intended to hold during the winter months was to keep the members of the club together and to develop the social side. The prizewinners were as follow: Ladies, Mrs. W. Spring, 1; consolation, Mrs. McMaster. Men: Mr. Williams, 1; consolation, Mr. Carstens. Supper .was provided by a committee of ladies. \ Mr. G. Hayne thanked those present for their attendance, and said that the club greatly appreciated the support which had been accorded to that night's gathering. Subsequently, Mr. H. M. Morton, with the assistance of the four prizewinners, demonstrated “Crazy Bridge. ’ which, he stated, had become popular in Auckland. A vote taken as to whether crazy bridge or progressive auction bridge should be played at the next bridge party resulted in favour of the latter.
