With its steps spattered with blood, as a result of air raids, the Meifeng Bank has resumed business. The city’s debris has been cleaned up, the dead buried and the wounded taken to hospital. Havoc was wrought in Central Park, whither people flocked believing it would not be bombed. It was sprayed with incendiary bombs, killing 20 persons and wounding 30.
