AGREEMENTS WITH BRITAIN ' & GERMANY. NO INCONSISTENCY SEEN BY MR CHAMBERLAIN. (British Official Wireless.) RUGBY, May 24. The Prime Minister, Mr Chamberlain, stated in the House of Commons today that from the published text of the Italo-German agreement signed on Monday there did not seem to be any provision that could be held inconsistent with Italy’s obligations under the declaration of January 2, 1937, which was reaffirmed in the Anglo-Italian agreement of April 16, 1938.
