LABOUR PARTY

DANCE AND CARD PARTY. The first of a series of fortnightly dances under the auspices of the Labour Party’s Social Committee was held in the Y.M.C.A.' last night. The two halls were well filled with dancers and card players who spent a most enjoyable time. The winners of the Lucky Spot dance were Mrs Lehmsted and Mr Finlayson, the Monte Carlo winners being Miss Hartman and Mr Te Tau. The prize-winners in the euchre tournament were Mrs Wilton and Mr Kilminster. Supper was served by members of the ladies’ committee. The M.C., Mr P. Ward, ably controlled the gathering. The next dance and euchre tournament will be held on June 8.
