The Moon and Seed Planting.

The effect of the moon on newly planted seeds was referred to by Mr J. A. McPherson, director of the Christchurch Botanic Gardens, in an address to the Sumner Beautifying Association. “It is not all moonshine to plant, seeds according to the phases of the moon,” he said. From experiments conducted in the city it appeared that seed sown just before full moon gave 33 per cent better strike.
