GAMES FOR SATURDAY. EXPERT TO REFEREE MATCHES. On Saturday next Miss M. E. Armstrong, president of the N.Z. Basketball Referees’ Association, will visit Masterton to referee two of the A grade games and to answer questions regarding the new rules. In order to give the younger players every opportunity to see expert refereeing of the new game, no B grade matches will be played, but it is hoped that all players will attend. All primary and secondary teachers and the sth and 6th standards of the primary schools are invited to be present. Later there will be a discussion and Miss Armstrong will answer questions; to this teachers and referees are invited. Girls are asked to note that the matches will commence at 1.45 and that punctuality is essential, as Miss Armstrong will be returning to Wellington later in the afternoon. Matches will be as follows: — A GRADE. lona v Stars, Court I at 1.45 p.m.. Miss Armstrong. College A v Collegians, Court I, at 2.30 p.m., Miss Armstrong. College B v H.5.0.G., Court 11, at 2.30 p.m., Miss D. O’Donnell. B grade players are asked 1 to note that the T.O.G. team has withdrawn and that the Greytown nurses will take their place in the round. The games will be played at Greytown on alternate Saturdays. On Saturday, June 3, there will be no A grade matches, but the B grade will be played as usual.
