LADIES’ GOLF
TOURNAMENT AT LANSDOWNE. RESULTS OF SEMI-FINALS. The ladies of the Masterton Golf Club commenced a tournament at the Lansdowne links yesterday morning. Yesterday afternoon the first rounds of the various contests were played, the results being:— Open championship: Miss Collins beat Mrs Turnbull, Miss Todd beat Miss E. Barton. Mrs Horner beat Mrs ■A. B. Martin, Miss Hornabrook beat Miss Pearce. Lansdowne Handicap: Mrs Tatham beat Miss E. Jury, Miss Maunsell beat Mrs S. Burridge, Mrs Borthwick beat Miss P. James, Mrs Park beat Mrs Holden. Masterton Handicap: Miss L. Beetham beat Miss J. Wrigley, Miss Nix beat Mrs Nita, Mrs Fagan beat Mrs Plummer, Mrs B. P. Perry beat Miss Carrick. First bogey: Senior, Mrs Horner 1 up: junior, Mrs Tatham 5 up. The results of the semi-finals played this morning were as follow: — Open championship: Miss Collins beat Miss I). Todd. 2 up; Miss Hornabrook beat Mrs Horner, 4/2. Lansdowne handicap: Mrs Borthwick beat Mrs Allan Park, 4/2; Miss M. Maunsell beat Mrs F. Tatham, 1 up. Masterton handicap: Miss Nix beat Miss L. Beetham, 5/4; Mrs Fagan beat Mrs B. P. Perry. 4/3.
