FATE OF THE CZECHS
NO CHANGE IN BRITISH ATTITUDE. (British Official Wireless.) RUGBY, May 22. Asked in the House of Commons whether in view of the refusal of the Nazi Government to grant extra-ter-ritorial rights to diplomatic representatives in Prague it would be made clear that the shutting of'the British Legation did not imply Recognition by the British Government of the forcible annexation by Germany of Czechoslovakia, the Foreign Under-Secretary, Mr R. A. Butler, replied that the withdrawal of the Legation did not affect the attitude of the British Government, as stated by the Prime Minister on March 20. When asked in the House of Commons on March 20 whether the Government was recognising the annexation of Czechoslovakia, Mr Chamberlain replied that the Government, in concert with other Governments, was considering all the consequences of the German action before a statement was possible.
