KING & QUEEN GET BRIEF REST AFTER TOUR OF EASTERN CANADA. TRAVEL OVER THE PRAIRIES. By Telegraph—Press association—Copyright. SUDBURY (Ontario), May 22. The special correspondent of the Australian Associated Press says that, after an exhausting programme in eastern Canada, during which it is estimated that at least 3,500,000 people caught a glimpse of them, their Majesties, for the first time in a week, were able to sit back and relax on the Royal train tonight as it sped westward to the broad prairies, which mean freedom from state banquets and legislative receptions. Since her arrival at Quebec, the Queen changed gowns 18 times, only twice appearing in the same one, and received 17 bouquets. Tomorrow their Majesties will make brief stops at Port Arthur and Fort William. On Wednesday the King and Queen will arrive at Winnipeg. From there, at 6.15 p.m. (G.M.T.) on Thursday, the King will make a broadcast speech to the world at the conclusion of the round-the-Empire broadcast. NO INFORMATION REGARDING ROYAL TOUR OF NEW ZEALAND. LOYAL WELCOME ASSURED. (By Telegraph—Press Association.) WELLINGTON, This Day. Nothing has been heard officially by the New Zeaand Government of the possibility of a tour of the Dominion by the King and Queen when the international situation is easier. A suggestion that a visit to Australia and this country was contemplated by their Majesties was contained in a cable message from Melbourne published yesterday. “We would be delighted to make the necessary arrangements if it is possible for the King and Queen to make the trip to New Zealand,” said the Prime Minister. “Members of the Government and everybody, else in New Zealand will be very glad if the suggestion that they are to visit the Dominion is true. I am sure that they would be received with open arms by the people.”
