Mr and Mrs F. E. Wells, Villa Street, Masterton, are on a holiday in Napier. Mrs W. H. Saunders has returned to Masterton for a holiday spent at Raumati. Mrs J. Simpson, of Essex Street. Masterton. has returned from a visit to the Lower Hutt. Mr and Mrs W. H. Corfield left Martinborough today on a trip to England. Mr and Mrs Willett have returned to Featherston from a holiday spent in Auckland. Mr and Mrs R. Taylforth, of Kaituna, returned from a holiday which was spent at Tauranga. Miss C. Parsons, of Essex Street, Masterton, has returned from a visit to her parents at Rangiora. Miss G. Linklater, Palmerston North, is a visitor to Masterton as the guest of her sister, Mrs R. Caley, Hessey Street. Miss L. Wells, of Villa Street, Masterton, has returned to Masterton after a holiday spent in Lower Hutt and Napier. Mr and Mrs Hayes, of Featherston, who have been spending the school vacation on the West Coast, have returned home.

Miss George, who spent the major part of her annual holiday with her mother, Mr . S. M. George, of Eketahuna, left yesterday for, Wanganui where she will be the guest of Mrs K. Rahone before returning to duty at the Memorial Hospital, Hastings. Recently Mrs Thos. Fisher, a pioneer settler of Greytown, became a great-great-grandmother.’ Although in her 91st year, Mrs Fisher is still hale and hearty. She is living at Morison’s Bush with her daughter, Mrs. James Thompson, who, as the result of an event in the Thompson family, becomes a great-grandmother. The settlers of Tawaha gathered at the residence of Mrs Herrick on Saturday night to bid farewell' to Mr and land this week, and Mr anu xvirs Roy Burch, who are paying a visit to Australia. Mi’ A. George presented each guest with a gift suitable to the occasion from their friends. The health of the guests was drunk with musical honours. ENGAGEMENT. CHADWICK—CORFIELD. Mr and Mrs W. H. Corfield, Martinborough, announce the engagement of their only daughter, Doris Mary, to Eric Linton Chadwick, eldest son of Mr and Mrs H. Chadwick, Pahl, Kaipaift, North Auckland.
