WOOL CENSUS
EXAMINATION OF STOCKS IN BRITAIN. By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright. (Received This Day, 10.30 a.m.) LONDON, May 22. The Government on Saturday is taking a census of wool stocks and tops, marking the end of. the British buying period for the Australian and New Zealand season. . . The Board of Trade does not anticipate an immediate national emergency, nor is the Government buying reserves. It is simply ascertaining supplies owing to unsettled conditions. Last year’s census included a survey of machineiy and stock which is now unnecessary.
