The New Zealand High Commissioner Mr W. J. Jordan, supported M. Maisky who urged the reading of a telegram to the League Council from Dr Bones, ex-President of Czechoslovakia, seeking permission to address the League, but Viscount Halifax and the League Secretary-General, M. Jules Avenol, overruled the proposal on the "round that it was unconstitutional. ° The Council referred protests from King Zog and Dr Benes to the September meeting of the Assembly.
