The Scottish Trades Union Congress meeting in Glasgow decided to cease co-operating in national service work and to call on all trade unions to oppose conscription. The Scottish Peace Congress, at Edinburgh, opposed conscription and urged a British, French and Russian co-operation with America and all countries prepared to resist aggression.
